Summary

This wonderful property, located on a stunning stretch of the Amalfi coastline, is ideally positioned in the Fornillo area of Positano, one of the most favourite places on the Amalfi coast. The Amalfi coast is generally thought to be the most stunning in the whole Mediterranean – one where deep mountains simply plunge into the sea. The sensational “cornice” road bypasses picturesque villages dropping precipitously to the sea, or sloping down to delightful beaches – each more beautiful then the last.

The villa is positioned still high enough to enjoy the spectacular views and yet, close enough for a stroll, via a nearby private access, to one of the areas nicest beaches.

The villa, which has been object of a restoration that has maintained the typicality of the local architecture, was designed on three levels to adapt to the rugged quality of this terrain overlooking the sea.

Tucked away in a quiet position, it is a characteristic Moorish style, white-washed, with many features dating from the 14th century and it is characterized at ground floor by arch windows with loggia.

Property Details

The well maintained interior has been tastefully furnished with fine period pieces. It has a large living room, a dining room, 5 large double bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, private parking. The Villa also features high vaulted ceilings, priceless handmade Vietri-patterned floor tiles, Moorish marble columns, which all gives to the home a very intimate feeling and an old world atmosphere.

One particular feature is the pretty garden big enough to accommodate a swimming pool. From the garden, partially covered and ideal for "al fresco" dining, and from the spacious first floor terrace, the gaze is filled by the intense blue of the sea and glorious views of the Positano coastline and the sea.

Area Details

John Steinbeck wrote: “He brought us at last to Positano – It bites deep, a dream place that isn’t quite real and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone”.

Positano is divine! This original haunt of artists and writers still remains utterly alluring. This vibrant small town is still one of the most favourite places on the Amalfi coast. Intersected by a network of steep little alleyways, boutiques and restaurants, they hide distinctive houses clinging to the rocks, graced with wide terraces, and cascading flowers, all leading down to the main piazza and beach – with the dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta always predominant.
