Summary

A majestic place where everything is on a grand scale, l’Ulivo, is a particularly bright and spacious period family house, the perfect setting for an Italian villa. L’Ulivo is another of those stylish country houses the Italians do so well: an old stone house with smart interiors standing in blissful silence. The building is part of a small village with another two independent villas close by, therefore avoiding isolation but with all the necessary privacy.
Luxury surrounds this elegant eighteenth century villa, which lies in a unique position uncovering a suggestive and beautiful landscape, perched on a hill between the sea and the mountains of southern Marche.

Even today Marche remains a largely undiscovered gem in the heart of Italy. Perhaps because Marche has historically been an isolated region, sheltered as it is from intrusion by its natural mountain borders to the north, south and west and by the Adriatic Sea, it is only slowly gaining rightful recognition.
The region gets comparatively little mention in the travel media, deferring to the wider fame of neighbouring Tuscany and Umbria. Yet it can justifiably claim to be Italy’s very own Garden of Eden. In general, Marche has a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot dry summers. Summer temperatures average between 20-30 degrees but can reach the mid 40s.

Property Details

The house is on two levels, with 360 m2 of net surface overall, and is composed as follows: The ground-floor consists of three wide double bedrooms with independent access from outside through French-windows, all have private bathrooms. There is also a studio and a cloakroom. On the same level there is a garage of 65 m2 to be reached from the main gate via a travertine-pathway.
The first floor is reached by a wooden staircase and consists of a huge living-room with stylish fireplace, store-room, washing-room and a big well-equipped kitchen opening onto a terrace/garden equipped with tables to eat outside. Through two luminous doors, the living area faces a beautiful portico with summer chairs that create charming relaxing corners overlooking the infinity pool of 5 m X 10 m (16,40 ft X 32,81 ft) with a deepness of 2,5 m (8,20 ft) complete of all accessories.
All the finishing is of excellent quality, the pavements are made of precious parquet flooring and the ceilings are made of wooden beams and terracotta tiles. Woodworks finish the luminous windows that ensure light and air to the ample and spacious rooms.

An impressive portico terrace opens itself on the house front. Part of the portico is covered by luminous white tapestries that, like sails are silhouetted against the blue of the sky and makes the kitchen area bigger for eating outside.
Otherwise, the garden set on two levels is a captivating show of colours: beautiful matured sloping garden with valuable essences and flowers. The deep blue pool is another captivating show: the water laps the border of the big pool, leaking out in thin runnels. The garden is equipped with electric irrigation and illumination and embellished with gigantic centenarian olive trees.

Area Details

Crowds don't figure heavily in Le Marche. The region offers peace and tranquillity in a beautiful setting. There are only 1.5 million people living in the province, with the majority based around the coast. The long, wide beaches are a favourite with Italian families - ideal for safe bathing - and during the summer locals head for coastal resorts including Senigallia, Pesaro and San Benedetto del Tronto.

The views from the property's hilltop are stunning and allows to admire the historic centre of Ascoli Piceno town. The house is only 15 min. away from the sea and 20 min. from the ski runs. The house is 85 km away from the airport of Pescara and 120 km from Ancona-Falconara. Pescara airport is connected to London Stanstead with Ryanair flights.
